Visions of Paisley Ivory Kraft-Ultra-Lined

Our Lyon Florals designs come to us from a set of paper and silk swatchbooks dating back to France in the 18th to the early 19th century. We came across this book in a shop in London, England, and were immediately drawn to the intricate hand-painted and block-printed art that it contained. Intricate, lush foliage and floral designs were painted on paper to create these master patterns dating from the 1860s, which would have been used to create templates for mass production. The French swatchbooks have provided inspiration for many other Paperblanks series and remain a veritable treasure chest of ideas for future designs
